Fraudster admits $70,000 cryptocurrency scam on Tecumseh inhabitant
The Ontario Provincial Police has warned of the dangers of cryptocurrency since a resident of Tecumseh was left out of pocket for $70,000 through a deal with an online brokerage.
Essex County Crime Unit to conduct investigation
The victim is unable to recover the cash, and the Essex County Crime Unit has now taken on the investigation. The OPP is advising residents to be vigilant and to verify all contact information of any parties before providing personal or financial details, reminding traders that caller display information can be fraudulent.
